This policy explains what personal data Cogton collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. It is written in plain language.
Who we are
The data controller is Cogton, based in Luxembourg. For any data question, contact info@cogton.com.
What we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Contact and checklist forms — your name, company name, and email address, plus any message you choose to include.
- Packaging Diagnostic quiz — your answers to six questions about your business type, packaging cost visibility, annual unit volume, who handles packaging decisions, whether you sell in the EU, and your familiarity with PPWR. These answers are anonymous unless you subsequently submit the contact form.
We do not collect special-category data, payment information, or any data from children.
Why we collect it
Form data is used to reply to your enquiry and to send you the PPWR checklist when you request it. Quiz answers are used to generate your instant packaging profile and, with your consent via analytics, to understand which profiles are most common so we can improve the tool. We do not use your details for unrelated marketing.
Lawful basis
We process form data on the basis of your consent (submitting the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. Quiz answers processed for analytics purposes are gated on your cookie consent choice. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us or clearing your browser's local storage.
We do not sell your data
Your data is never sold or rented. It is shared only with the service providers that operate this site: Web3Forms (form submission handling) and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics. Both act solely as processors under our instruction.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage (not cookies) to remember your language preference and your cookie consent choice. With your explicit consent, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — page views, quiz completion rates, and CTA clicks. You can decline analytics via the banner at the bottom of this page; the site works fully either way. No tracking occurs before you accept.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Email info@cogton.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg data protection authority, the CNPD.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and form data is kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted. Anonymous quiz analytics data held by Google Analytics follows Google's standard retention period of 14 months. You can request deletion at any time.
